About Us

The Way of the Warrior

Budokai Martial Arts began in 2011 as Narragansett Bay Budokai. After nine successful years as North Kingstown's premiere martial arts school, we were ready to move to a bigger location and rebrand as Budokai Martial Arts. Our curriculum and approach are designed to work with people of all levels of skill and fitness to bring out the very best in every individual. We emphasize the importance of respect, responsibility, honesty, good behavior, politeness, and self control while learning self defense and creating a safe and fun environment. The ultimate purpose of martial arts is not to create fighting machines, but to improve one's character. We offer martial arts and fitness training in a positive, family oriented environment.

Budokai is pronounced (Boo Doe K-eye). Bu means "martial". Do means "the way" and refers to living a life of discipline, respect, honor, loyalty, and peace. Kai means "club".
